I went in to have my breaks checked. They were very approachable yet professional. They assessed the vehicle as a whole in a timely manner with detailed description of the current situation. I was amazed to know the assessment was absolutely free of charge. I’m obviously not looking forward to having my car break down or deteriorate. But for the level of service provided, I don’t mind going in again soon. Top work! Will definitely recommend.

I messaged via the website on the 7th, not expecting availability at such short notice. However, Niki and the team had my car booked in before 9am the very next day for its MOT! They called me straight away to explain what work was required, provided a clear cost breakdown, and had the car repaired and ready by 1pm.

Fantastic service — friendly, helpful staff, an immaculate workshop, and very reasonable prices. I’m genuinely impressed and will 100% use them again. Highly recommend to family and friends. Thank you all!

Best garage ever!! Kind, helpful, can leave your car there and pick it up the next day if you’re busy. They didn’t even charge me to look at my air con unit, some garages charge a fee just to look at your car. Friendly staff and the wait room is always clean and tidy.

Got me booked in quickly, they were very forward with the ins and outs of what they are doing with both vehicles we took in. Inspection was brilliant and quick and I was on my way after 3 hours with both vehicles. Brilliant pricing on the air con recharge I went in for and the team were friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service and advice.
MOT failed but was advised what was the cost to repair rear top strut but the handbrake issue would need investigating before giving price, so dont pay for anything till checked. I agreed investigation was completed only needed freeing up due to ceasing from lack of use whilst in hospital. They phoned gave update and good news completed top strut in 1 1/2 hours and collected excellent customer support

Why does my car need an MOT test?

If your vehicle is over 3 years old, in addition to the obvious safety aspects, if you do not have a valid MOT certificate you cannot drive your car lawfully on the road and you won’t be able to renew your car tax.

What is involved in an MOT test?

An MOT involves dozens of checks on your car, ranging from the brakes and fuel system to lights, mirrors, seatbelts, windscreen wipers and exhaust system.

What happens if my car fails its MOT test?

On 20 May 2018, the MOT categories for fails and passes changed. If your car has a dangerous fault, you won’t be able to drive it away. If you do wish to take your vehicle elsewhere you should have it towed. If your car has a major fault, you may be able to drive it away if it is still roadworthy and your previous MOT has not expired. If you drive a vehicle without an MOT or with dangerous faults you can be fined up to £2,500 or receive points on your license.

How do I prepare my vehicle for an MOT test?

Make sure your screen wash is topped up, check your bulbs are working and the car is clean with the lamps, mirrors and registration plates visible. Make sure nothing is blocking the driver’s view and that there are no warning lights on the dash. If in doubt give us a call.
